Saturday 4/4/26

Hi, Good luck to those racing the Tough Enough Relay tomorrow (Saturday)! We are 1 week away from the Carlsbad 5K, two weeks from the M2B Half and Marathon as well as Boston and three weeks from the Eugene Marathon!

Coach Mike is attending the Tough Enough Relay and will not be at practice and Coach Rusty is away at the Stanford Invitational watching world class track so both of us are out of town tomorrow. So read carefully and we are with you in spirit.

Meet tomorrow 6:30am Shoreline Cafe.

Workout start location: Chase Palm park

Everybody warmup 40min to Chase Palm Park where we usually start

Carlsbad 5k folks: 5x20sec strides, 2mile time trial (run to milpas turn and follow bike path back to bridge before dolphins and head back to starting point Chase palm Park. Cool down remaining

Boston Marathoners: 8 miles at Marathon pace…start same place head to milpas and follow bike path back all the way to Elise Way (Lazy Acres) and turn to re trace your steps back to start then add mile at the end for 8miles.

Everyone else: 2-3x2mile with 4min between. Each (goal is 3 x2mile, but if you aren’t running more than 30-35miles per week then stick to 2 repeats and keep then at 85%…right at threshold effort) #1 repeat at 85% effort, #2 repeat @90% effort, #3 repeat @85%…this 90% should be 10-20sec a mile faster than the 85% depending on the runner.

Have a great workout and see you all Tuesday!
